3D Easter Basket Centerpiece

I have had a Busy with the Cricky sort of day. I completed next week's project for Custom Crops and I made this FABULOUS 3D Easter Basket Centerpiece for my entryway table. I am really pleased with how this basket came out.

I used CDS, Easter 2010, and George to design and cut the pieces of the baskets and fillers. The cut file will be available soon. The George pieces could be swapped with Plantin as only rectangles were used. I welded rectangles to the basket shadow cuts to create tabs and affixed the tabs together to create the 3D effect. To make the basket more stable I placed an empty tall, thin Prima Flower jar inside the basket.

I attached white floral wires to the back of the filler cuts. After placing shredded pink gift bag filler inside the basket I inserted the floral wires through the filler and into the empty jar. The wires can be bent and shaped to place the pieces into position.

View looking into the top of the basket on a blue background:

I can't wait to see how cute this basket is going to look in my front entryway!!!

Got Eggs? A conerted non-Easter Tilda card

One of the many things I love about the Magnolia stamps is the versatility. You can change just about any Tilda to fit the season. This particular Tilda is holding a heart. But being that it's Spring and almost time for Peter Cottontail to come hopping down the bunny trail, what I saw instead of a heart was bunny ears! So I simply (VERY simply - I'm not an artist!!) drew a little bunny face on the heart, and VOILA!.....you have an Easter Tilda!

Isn't that egg beautiful too? Both the stamps are available at Magnolia-licious! The Pink Tilda with a heart is coming soon, and so is the Easter Egg , so watch for them! Tilda and the egg are colored with my copic markers (numbers listed below) The paper I used is from Scenic Route and the cardstock is Bazzill. That cute downloadable stamp that says Got Eggs is from The Cutting Cafe'.

The ribbon is from PTI, flower is Prima, and the pearl is by Kaiser. I have to say that I used my talented DT sister, CHERYL ROWLEY's technique for highlighting my Tilda's socks. Check ou her blog. She's wickedly talented! That's it for this card! Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Following is the list of Copic markers used to color the stamps:
    Tilda : B41, B95, RV23, R20, E00, E02, E08, Y21, G20, G21, G24
    Egg: B21, B41, B95, YR24, R01, YG25, G28
    HUGS!

Bitten By The Bug challenge turned to The Cutting Cafe'

Ok, what can I say? I can't do pillow boxes. I've tried and I've tried and I have hated every one of them I put together. It's just not a shape for me. I tried yet again because that was our challenge over at BBTB this week...to use the pillow box from the Wedding Cartridge. I cut it out, and I sent the pic to Regina, and then decided that the best part of the whole thing I made was this adorable Easter tag. So if you want to see my pillow box, you can see it over at BBTB. (sorry...but I HATE it! LOL!) But I will show you this cute tag you can make with the AWESOME new downloadable stamps from The Cutting Cafe' that I attached to that pillow box. I just resized the word block for the size tag I wanted and printed it off. Then resized that cute little chick with egg and printed her off too.
I colored everything with my Copic markers, cut the chick and egg out and popped it up off the tag. Thought this would be a perfect tag to attach to an adorable stuffed animal for Easter, don't ya think?? Regina's stamps are awesome to work with! You can resize them to whatever you need and only have to print the ones you want to work with. Please be sure and visit Bitten By The Bug to look at what all the other talented designers came up with for this challenge. You won't be disappointed! And then jump over to The Cutting Cafe' to check out Regina's awesome downloadable stamps! Thanks for stopping by to visit and hope you had a fabulous weekend! Come back and see me soon!!

The Cutting Cafe conversation box

I can't shout this from the rooftops loud enough. I love Regina's downloadable stamps and cutting files over at The Cutting Cafe'! I have so much fun with these things! This one is a little box she made for those boxes of candy conversation hearts. Well, that's not all it's good for! I'm going to put a little Easter treat in this one!

I cut the box out with my Pazzle Inspiration out of kraft cardstock from PTI so it would be sturdy. (The Pazzle is available at Hallmark Scrapbook). Then covered that with my Making Memories DP. That cute little frog, well it's floating around this mess of a crafting area somewhere, but I'm pretty sure it's by Whippersnapper.

I colored the stamp up with my Copic markers and then cut it out and popped it up off the box for some dimension. I added the border using my MS border punch and added a little ribbon. That's all there was to it! It was so quick and easy to make thanks to Regina's files! Please be sure and visit her site and look through all the amazing stamps and cutting files she has to offer.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and hope to see you back again soon! Tomorrow is hump day! WOOHOO!! HUGS!

A Very Easy Egg Card - for Easter, Of Course!

So once again I was reading the cricut message board - yes, I really do have a life beyond the mb - and found a thread discussing Easter Cards. I also found out that Doodlecharms has an Egg shape. What makes that so interesting is that when I searched by keyword for Egg, the DC egg does not show up. Anyway, someone on the mb posted about the DC egg and this is what I came up with.
First, the created the cut file in a 6 x 12 format. Of course you only have to change the mat size for the expression - this is what I do. I also copy and past the base card cut again on the larger mat. I do this because when you cut the top layer on page 2 of the design, you cut it in two different colors so that your egg may have two colors on top. I actually did this with four colors of cardstock and now have four lovely, if very simple, egg cards (though in the photos only one is decorated... I am too busy eating cupcakes to do more tonight!!).
