Princess PJ Party with Once Upon a Princess & BBTB2

Happy BBTB2 Monday!  This week at BBTB2 we were challenged to use the rainbow cut from the Once Upon A Princess Cricut cartridge.  I am going to tell the truth and say that I was not thrilled with this cut.... UNTIL I designed my layout.  Then I decided this cut is adorable and has sooo many great uses.

I used Design Studio and designed a layout using several cuts from Once Upon a Princess.  I had never actually cut the cute castle on OUAP (GASP!) so I had a lot of fun with the layout.  I was especially excited to find the PJ cut, which includes adorable bunny slippers.  What a fun find.

I used the challenge cut to make a journaling card and attached the card to the upper left corner of the layout.  That way I still include journaling on a very full page, but also I get to include a cute decorative cut.  Sometimes all it takes is a little creativity to include the elements that we need.

In addition to my usual doodles and dots, I added a lot of gems to this layout.  I blinged the crowns at the bottom of the Pricess matting, as well as to the Princess PJ sets.

I also added a bit of bling to the top of the castle.  The final touch was to add tiny ribbon bows to the corners of the photos, to the Pricess's hair, and to the top tower of the castle.

I tried to video myself assembing this project. This video has a new camera position, which may or may not be an improvement.  I have found I quite like doing the videos and I will keep working on my skills.

Hello Kitty Travel Mug with Video

I found this travel mug at my local Hobby Lobby and just knew that I had to have it.  Wanting to use it for work TOMORROW, I decided to use my Cricut and Hello Kitty cartridge and create an insert.  I made a video of the process - and that was the good news.  The bad news was the video was twice as long as it was allowed to be. So yes, I did A LOT of cutting. I hope it still makes sense.

One other note before you view the video, please forgive Duncan the Wonder Dog... He is barking in the first minute of the video because he can see the children across the street and he LOVES to play with them.

BBTB2 Bless This Nest Door Hanger - 1st Video

Happy Memorial Day!  And welcome to the BBTB2 blog hop.  I am not hopping today (I forgot to arrange a prize - oops!), but be sure to go by BBTB2 to begin the blog hop when you leave here.  We had to use the Sweethearts cartridge, specifically the Bless This Nest cut.  I used the phrase as well as the bird couple in the nest.

For a really rough idea of how I made this card, I assembled the card in my first ever video.  This may not be the worst video ever made, but neither is it in the top ten!  You will have A LOT of views of my arm and hand - oops.  But the good news is I have finally figured out how to make a craft video.  All I need is to purchase a tripod.  That will happen this week!  I McGyver-ed a the camera for tonight only, hence all of the hand/arm shots!!  I will improve my video skills.

And finally here are a couple of more photos.  I hope you have a great day.

5 years ago, I would of told you half of these dunks were impossible. Team Flight Brothers are pretty much YouTube stars to everyone that follows basketball, but this mix was just insane.

Love Actually

Animal Crackers in My Soup

When I was little, I don't believe there was another treat that felt quite as magical to me as Barnam's Animals Crackers.

I loved the short and thin cotton twill handle on the box, which I would slide around my wrist as proudly as if it were the fanciest of handbags. Looking back, it was probably my first love affair with packaging!

Lately, I've had a hankering for these animal crackers. I wonder if you can imagine what led me to this craving...

No, it's not this song, but watch this clip and try not to smile!

How It's Made {Globes}

This video is a little long- close to five minutes- but it's worth the watch if you like to see how things are made. I found the process of manufacturing globes completely fascinating! And, at the end of the video, I loved seeing all the globes moving across the ceiling of the factory. Pretty cool.
