These images certainly make me wish we had photos of E dressing on our second wedding day, and even though they aren't so professional, it makes me glad my friend snapped a few shots of him getting ready on our first. {Early} Moments- In Black & White

We've looked at the series of {Early} Moments in pieces, from when a bride has her hair and makeup done to the last glance she takes in the mirror after she is ready and all of the steps in between. In our look at these beautiful moments, there was one thing each image had in common-- they were all in color.

While I adore colored photos, there is also a unquestionably classic appeal to images devoid of such a rainbow of hues; for that reason, I wanted to share one final {Early} Moments-- the entire sequence in black and white-- and the tale told is a timeless one.

{Early} Moments- Final Mirror Check

It has been quite a while since we last looked at {Early} Moments, a part of the Moments series, but so far we've seen images of the bride as she has her makeup done, as she is helped into her wedding dress, and as she applies the finishing touches to her look by securing hair accessories, jewelry, and shoes. Yet in this process of getting ready, there is one step we've not yet seen.

I don't know about you, but I must admit almost anytime I leave the house, I try to take a quick glance in the mirror to ensure nothing about my appearance is out of place. On a wedding day, this look in the mirror holds even greater importance.

It is more than simply making sure your look is put together and straightening anything that is askew. It is taking in the day as you realize where all your preparation has lead you and also reflecting on where you are headed. It is truly seeing yourself as a bride.

For this reason, the images that follow-- bride's taking time for a final mirror check-- seem to be a natural conclusion to all the other {Early}Moments.

On her wedding day, when the dress is on and her hair and makeup complete, a bride begins applying the finishing touches to her look. As she slips on her jewelry, veil, and shoes, the things that help make a bride's look uniquely her own, in those Moments, her wedding day style is completed.

{Early} Moments- Makeup

Before my first semi-formal dance in high school, my mom insisted on taking photos of me putting on my make-up. Although I went along with it, I didn't understand why she wanted to capture those images; once the film was developed, however, at the risk of sounding vain, I had to admit there was something intriguing about having documented those moments of preparation.

I love seeing photos capturing the early moments of a wedding day; the moments spent getting ready for the big event. Moments that are surely filled with anticipation, excitement, and nerves. Moments that are sometimes spent alone and often spent surrounded by friends and family.

To start the next installment in the Moments series, {Early} Moments, I'd like to share these beautiful images of brides in the midst of their big day beauty routines.
