Karan Johar will not interview Paris Hilton!

    The famous socialite and heiress Paris Hilton has not yet arrived in India, and there is already a buzz surrounding her first visit to Mumbai. Director Karan Johar was also gearing up to shoot a special episode of Koffee with Karan with Paris as a guest. But not anymore!

    As a source tells a daily, “Karan was allegedly told that he could not ask Paris Hilton any personal questions - especially those pertaining to drug use, her jail term or sex tapes.”

    Karan appears quite miffed with the set of conditions put forward by Paris’ media team. It’s heard that they agreed for the show after watching some episodes, and thus were quite familiar with the format of ‘Koffee With Karan’.

    Sources claim that the decision of Paris’s team to lay down too many conditions is “ridiculous”. As a result, Karan is not willing to shoot with Paris and has decided to drop the idea of an episode with her.

KJO at Cannes with 'My Name Is Khan'

    Joining the Bollywood brigade in Cannes for the film festival that started yesterday is Karan Johar.

    “Anything to grab many more eyeballs,” says the dapper Bollywood filmmaker who’s hoping to negotiate a mega global release for his Shah Rukh Khan starrer My Name Is Khan and the Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor film Jehaad with foreign distributing giants.

    Karan will be pitching his own tent at the Market Section of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival between Saturday and next Tuesday to sell the world rights of his films. But, before that, he is slated to make a grand entry by walking the red carpet as one of many hotshot international celebs at the prestigious event for a lifestyle brand. Then only, will he be free to get into the private meetings set up with international studios.

    “The Indian presence at Cannes has always been tremendous but now, with the world waking up to Indian cinema, we are only growing further. It’s great to see the exchange of ideas at various levels,” says Karan, adding, “I hope something will work out. It’s very important for me because my films have a global message.”

    To get his message across, the filmmaker has made a short showreel of My Name Is Khan and kept it solely for private meetings with distributors. “There cannot be a bigger platform than Cannes,” he says. Incidentally, the film is only 50 per cent complete. Karan and Shah Rukh go to San Francisco to finish it in July.

Karan Johar has joined hate groups that target him

    Karan Johar loves Facebook as much as the last celebrity.

    But the filmmaker has gone on and done something most other celebrities who are members of the popular social networking site might never do join hate groups that target him. KJo has joined two such groups.

    Says an apologetic Karan, "I joined these groups simply for my entertainment. I was recently in America, bored, and stumbled upon these groups and decided to check them out.

    I didn't know people could have so much random hatred.

    I have been meaning to leave these groups for a while now. I am going to do that right now. Thanks for reminding me."

Karan Johar's film creates chaos at US airport

    New Jersey’s Newark airport’s Terminal B was evacuated on Friday (May 8) when a security scan revealed a couple of suspected bombs in the baggage of a Mumbai-bound passenger.

    The objects turned out to be fake bombs in the bag of a unit member of Karan Johar’s film “Jihaad”, being directed by Rensil D’Silva.

    The film has been shot in the US and the unit was on a 2-day shoot in New York since the schedule had to be completed because Karan had waited a year to shoot in the present weather conditions.

    The film stars Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi. The movie’s plot is rooted in terrorism and that probably explains why the crew was carrying fake bombs.
