Twin Peaks is a must stop for everyone who wants to take in the spectacular skyline of San Francisco. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance to your left and the Bay Bridge to the right of the financial district. At your feet lies the City and you can see straight down Market Street. Other sights that can easily be found from up here on a clear day, are Mission Dolores, City Hall and the Transamerica Pyramid, Alcatraz and Sausalito, as well as Treasure Island. It's a nice way to get acqainted with the City and to get your bearings. Twin Peaks is also especially breathtaking at night when the City turns into a sea of lights.
After Twin Peaks, we made a short stop at world famous Alamo Square. Aside from relaxing in the park and admiring the old Victorian houses, it offers a very unique view to downtown, combining the old with the new.
Finally, we stopped at some of our favourite spots to take in the Golden Gate Bridge. Among our top ten are Fort Point, Baker Beach, Crissy Field next to the Marina District, and of course, the countless views had from Conzelman Road on the Marin Headlands.
We ended our day watching a beautiful sunset from Crissy Field, a view we never get tired of. |
